ExCo consists of individuals elected from the UK organisations in the IUCN membership. Those elected can then co-opt individuals to enhance the expertise of ExCo and assist in country representation. The State Member, Defra, represents UK Government and we would like to broaden this to subnational IUCN Members and the conservation agencies of the four nations. It is hoped there will be more representatives of the IUCN Commissions until all IUCN Commissions are represented, in addition to those connections provided by the expert working groups.
Meeting four times a year, ExCo conduct the business of the national committee in conjunction with the Chief Executive and Secretariat and reports to members at least once a year at a Members Meeting and AGM. In the national committee’s lifetime ExCo has met over 100 times. It is currently working to deliver its Workplan 2021-25 (Workplan 2017-20 v4)
